Parish Outreach

Hello, my name is Bertha del Carpio, Director of St. Aloysius Outreach program. Our program provides direct assistance to people in need in the Great Neck community. We aim to serve all people, who come seeking our assistance. We are committed to reaching out to them and to all those in need in our community. Together with the St. Vincent de Paul Society we operate the only food pantry in the town of Great Neck. The direct assistance we offer includes food and financial assistance (particularly help with rent, utility bills, health related expenses like doctors or medications). We also provide counseling and support to people going through the often challenging process of obtaining assistance from local, state or federal government sources. The food we are able to give to those in need comes from a variety of sources. Much of it is donated directly by people of our parish and the Great Neck community; some comes from other agencies such as Long Island Cares and Island Harvest. Some resources are collected in drives sponsored by local schools and temples, and by generous postal workers, firefighters and boy scouts of our community.
